Here is a quick recap of our trip in two parts. Part one, Canada:
At the last minute Mike decided to travel with us to Las Vegas. He was going to come the next day with Zetta. I am very glad he came with us because the Las Vegas airport was closed due to the SNOW STORM they had. Our flight went directly to Burbank. Of course this was after a 4 hour delay. Sitting in the airport for 4 hours trying to entertain 3 kids 3 and under. Funners! It was a good thing I had Mike with me...

A special thanks to my brother in law Bill who drove over one hour to pick us up at midnight at the Burbank airport!
It was actually quite nice to go to CA for a few days. It ended up being a few days b/c the road to Vegas was closed too! We got to spend a few days with my grandparents. It was so good to see them before they moved away again.

We arrived in Vegas just in time to go to our old Ward's Christmas party and see Santa. My sister in Law Kelly had a layover in Vegas and decided she wanted to take Zetta to Canada with her a day early to surprise Granny and Bapa McBride.

Our flights up to Canada on Air Canada were so nice. Everyone had there own TV's with on demand movies and TV. Too bad I didn't have this for the flight I did with all three kids on my own. More about that later...

Canada did not disappoint in the snow and cold department. It was FREEZING cold! Mike got to relive the good old days of shoveling snow.

Santa came to visit us at Granny and Bapa's house. Zetta got her chance to sit on his lap. She was fine for a few seconds. Then she turned and looked at him and cried.

On Christmas Eve, we bundled up and went to the Nativity Pageant. In Calgary, the Mormon church puts on a live nativity every year. It is quite impressive. They have quite a set with live donkeys and sheep. But MAN! It was cold this year. The bleachers had a layer of ice on them.

When we got home, we did our own little nativity. It didn't last long.

After the Nativity, the kids got to open their Christmas Eve PJ's.

Christmas morning. The Snow sure looks pretty behind a full Christmas tree. Connor's prayer (see previous post) came true. Our tree did get presents under it!

Zetta's First Christmas!

We took the kids sledding on Christmas afternoon. The loved it despite the cold. All of the adults were cold long before the kids were.

Taking a spill with Papa:

In addition to sledding down a hill, we took the sled to the ice rink and Mike pulled the kids around on his ice skates. The rental booth was closed so us girls just sat and watched

We also went to the wave pool where the kids went down water slides, jumped off diving boards and swung on the big orange balls!

We did a really crazy thing and went to walk around the Zoo Lights in minus 32 degree Celsius weather. We didn't last too long. Poor Tara's legs were still cold to the touch almost an hour after sitting by the fire.

The best part of the trip for me was winning a bet from Bill. I guess the best part was him actually admitting that I won and him paying his debt.

We had a great time in Canada! We got to enjoy having Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Chris all to ourselves. The kids loved their Donkey Rides and stories from Bapa.

For those of you that wonder who Zetta looks like and where she got that full head of dark brown hair:

Thank you Bill and Carol for taking such good care of us and making it a fantastic trip!
